60% Cabernet Franc, 40% Merlot

Year two for this cuvee brings a few small but impactful
changes. The first being the varietal composition as Mother Nature decided to
shatter a large percentage of the Merlot, allowing the Cab Franc to take to the
fore. The second and most apparent difference between this year and last was
winemaking related. In 2016, we kept the two separate wanting to see how each
expressed themselves independent of each other, opting to blend them together
before bottling. In 2017, we picked them both on the same day (October 18th)
and co-fermented. The decision was validated almost immediately as the aromatics
and flavors were integrated and working together from the minute fermentation
started. For those of you that enjoyed the inaugural vintage of this wine, I am
confident you will enjoy the next step in this offerings evolution.
